Abstract
The Project "socio-economic panel for the Federal Republic of Germany" was begun in 1984. A representative sample approximately ca. 12 000 persons (in 6000 households) are to be interviewed annually concerning economic and social subjects. The project aims at providing a rich database on the microlevel for scientific analysis. The present contribution considers the representativeness of the panel exemplified by its results of the structure of the labour force. The quality of the data is shown to be very good.
