Abstract

The meaning of time varies culturally, but in any case it has an influence not only on individual behavior but also on economic activities. The respective understanding of time may also impact a country’s innovation activities, as the understanding of time is a prerequisite for the realistic discounting of future payments and for the postponement of individual need satisfaction. Time perception also affects the way activities are planned and managed. Based on theoretical thoughts, this paper examines the impact of the cultural understanding of time on a country’s innovative capacity and entrepreneurship, and presents own estimations depicting the impact of the pace of life on national entrepreneurship.
