Abstract
Der Artikel entwirft einen Ansatz zur Sinngenese und zum soziokulturellen Wandel, basierend auf den Arbeiten Niklas Luhmanns. Obwohl die Kultursoziologie der Sinngenese eine zentrale Rolle beimisst, hat sie sich bisher kaum mit der Frage des langfristigen historischen Wandels auseinandergesetzt, wie er ursprünglich von Max Weber vorgeschlagen wurde. Eine Reihe neuerer Veröffentlichungen kritisiert diese Lücke hinsichtlich eines theoretischen Rahmens. Die vorliegende Studie adressiert dieses Defizit, indem sie ein oft übersehenes Element im Werk Niklas Luhmanns untersucht: seine Schriften zu Sinn und Kultur. Eine detaillierte Analyse von Luhmanns Konzept der Sinnstiftung innerhalb seiner Wissens- und Kultursoziologie umfasst eine theoretische Aufarbeitung seiner Überlegungen und deren Anwendung auf die Semantik der Liebe in Japan. Die theoretischen und empirischen Erörterungen leisten einen Beitrag zur weiterführenden Debatte über den langfristigen soziokulturellen Wandel als Forschungsfeld der Kultursoziologie.
