Abstract
On Complexity – Barcelona Lecture 1995
The text presented here in English translation was delivered by Edgar Morin at a conference in Barcelona in 1995. The text of the lecture, sent to us at the suggestion of Edgar Morin himself via the Fondation Edgar Morin, remains (unfortunately, we might say, considering the observations from a geopolitical point of view) entirely relevant and presents, in essence, the elements that Edgar Morin had already developed and would later expand upon in what he himself defined as “complex thought”. The text represents, in a concise and elegant manner, one of the first lucid attempts to adapt philosophical thought to the revolution in science or the sciences of complexity.
