Abstract
In diesem Artikel wird argumentiert, dass die sozial-ökologische Transformation nicht nur eine Umstrukturierung der traditionellen Wohlfahrtsstaatsarchitektur erfordert, sondern auch eine Erneuerung der wohlfahrtsstaatlichen Ziele und Institutionen. Während lange Zeit kompensatorische und präventive Funktionen im Vordergrund standen, gewinnt nun die Stärkung der transformativen Funktion und die Förderung der ökologischen Nachhaltigkeit durch den Wohlfahrtsstaat an Bedeutung. Der Artikel fokussiert auf konzeptionelle Ansatzpunkte für die sozial-ökologische Transformation.
